"Sa'Leera didn't always used to be a violent wrathful organization. In fact, we were quite the opposite. Nearly 200 years ago, Sa'Leera was established as a peaceful group of traveling merchants. We would go to a city setting up tents outside their gates to sell our items for a week before moving onto the next city. We continued that way of life for many many years.
Until 20 years ago. The great war that saw kingdoms pitted against each other in horrific combat that left hundreds dead. At first our resolve to peace was golden. Led by my father we refused to engage in combat, vowing to maintain our neutrality. And we did for the longest time, until one night, we set up camp outside the city gates preparing to trade with the inhabitants in the coming days, but we would never get the opportunity.
I was a young lad at the time, but I still remember the day as if it were yesterday. We were awakened at the crack of dawn by trumpets and battle cries as a legion of armed cavalry men rode of the hill and rushed towards the city we were staying near. We being to hurriedly pack and prepare to leave. We waved our banners, screaming out that we neutral. But that didn't stop them, the cavalry men begin slaughtering us, innocent unarmed pacifists, by the dozens along with the towns inhabitants. They ignored our resolve to my peace and forever broke our trust of the kingdoms.
My father died in the attack along with many many others of our group. So my uncle took up the banner of leader since I was too young, vowing revenge on the kingdoms for all we had lost that day. Ever since then we have abandoned our ways as traders and instead we turned into bandits, raiding cities, backstabbing kingdom after kingdom in hopes of making them pay for what they did to us.
That's what we've done for the past two decades, until recently the violence finally caught up with my uncle and he was killed in a raid leaving me to take the mantle of leadership and determine what path Sa'Leera will take. Continue on in violence or return to the peaceful ways of the past?" - JBahr203
